After many discussions with women about their health and fitness goals I think it’s safe to say that most women want to achieve or maintain a lean physique. We’d all love to get rid of access fat we carry around. If we look at achieving that goal, exercise is just one component of the fat burning process. In most cases we can spend hours in the gym doing cardio but are often left wondering why we’re not achieving the results we want. It’s at this point, totally frustrated, we turn to solutions such as fat burners.
Don’t be influenced by the abs of steel infomercials advertising fat burners that will make your belly fat disappear with little or no effort. RIGHT!!!! If it sounds too good to be true it probably is.
Another major reason I don’t suggest taking fat burners is because they aren’t sustainable. As soon as you stop taking the pills the fat will come back. In addition, fat burners contain synthetic chemicals and our bodies have a hard time processing these foreign substances. Lastly, if not taken properly there can be some serious side effects.
Being a fitness model there is a pressure to do things exactly "how they've always been done". Taking supplements like fat burners has been practiced by many athletes and continues to be done because of the physical results achieved. But my approach to this sport is different, maybe even a bit unconventional.
I am a strong believer in doing everything naturally. There are many different ways we can increase our body’s fat burning stage naturally. Below I’ve listed what I do to help increase body fat loss. I wouldn’t suggest you go out and buy all of these items and begin using them all right away. I slowly introduced each one into my body. This helps the body get use to the new food and helps you create a sustainable practice. If you add to many components right away chances are it will be hard to keep up with. Start slow with one item and then once you’re comfortable with one thing move on and add another.
Here I’ve listed how I incorporate fat burning foods and practices into my diet daily…
1-Drink an ice cold glass of water immediately after waking up followed by a glass of kefir
2- Eat 30g of protein within 30 minutes of waking up
3- Sprinkle cinnamon onto morning oats
4- Drink chicory root instead of tea in the morning. Take it to work in a travel mug
5- Put a green tea bag in a water bottle daily
6- Sprinkle turmeric into a daily shake
7- Place an ice pack on the back of the neck in the evening while watching TV
8-Eat hot pepper rings with 1-2 meals a day
Remember that dropping body fat isn’t solely done in the gym. What you do in the kitchen plays a large role in the achievement process. Create a balance between an exercise routine, healthy eating habits and using food instead of chemical induced supplements. This will not only help you achieve the results you want but your body will thank you for it.
